Meet the Maker

My name is Katy and I am the founder of Pixiecraft. Pixiecraft specialises in creating colourful, nature inspired handmade gifts, art, colouring books and cards, printed stationery as well as teaching creative workshops.

Pixiecraft was founded in 2012 offering original handmade embroidery artwork.I taught myself to sew in 2011 having never undertaken any needlework before, I quickly fell in love with the process but felt limited by the designs and so I began to create my own original designs. In 2012 Pixiecraft was born with a focus on intricate and inspiring pieces designed to spread joy. Over the years I have developed into creating whimsical impressions of wildlife and have brought out a range of miniature wearable embroideries. In 2016 I released the first hand embroidery kit.

Since 2022 Pixiecraft has changed course to adapt to my health and long term sustainability and now focuses upon offering colourful, handmade gifts, art, colouring books and more.

This new direction has lit my love for creating joyful products on fire. I am passionate about creating work that is playful and draws you into the details to get curious about the world around. There is no such thing as “just for kids” I want you to embrace your inner child and bring play and joy back to the centre of design!

I teach creative workshops throughout the North West, online and I am willing to travel. Please check our social media or join the mailing list for updates of any upcoming events and workshops. Alternatively if you would like to arrange a workshop for your own group or organisation then please contact me for more information.

Pixiecraft is very much a family affair. The two Little Pixies who are home educated are an important part of the business and can often be found helping to label boxes, do post runs and help out at children’s classes.

We have a strong social media community, particularly across Facebook and Instagram and if you join us you will get many sneak peeks behind the scenes as well as a first look at any offers, updates and giveaways.

I regularly take on commissions and collaborations, if you would like to work with me to create something unique then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
